Hi Andy,

Again, thanks for the comment! The example was not meant to compare PQC and QKD in terms of energy efficiency, but just to explain to the PO (which probably does not know much about the two fields) that they work in different regimes (quantum vs classical) when encoding the information. That is all.

Anyway, I have now replaced the sentence stating that PQC uses millions of photons to encode each bit (which is actually true in classical optical communication), with "Information is encoded in classical bits". I hope this is fine! :)

The new version of the keynote file has been uploaded to dropbox.

Cheers,
Marcos.

With this I just want to make the point that QKD works in a quantum domain while PQC in a classical one (and the number of photons is a way to illustrate it). Hope this is fine! Otherwise, please let me know.

Also, are there actual implementations that implement QKD and use a single photon to encode a single state? Even then, you are comparing apples and oranges as you are talking about the full communication in the one case and a single state in the other (QKD also needs a classical channel, requires far more than one state, etc.pp.) [sorry for the nitpicking]

" Established in terms of cryptanalysis" would be more appropriate with the oral explanation that this cannot give absolute certainty if you want to add that.
