Asunto: QSI: Outreach Activity 2 (public talk).
Dear Doctoral Candidates,
This email is just to inform you that, and as you may already know, you must do the "Outreach Activity 2 (public talk)" where you will encourage participants to submit any art (please see the text below from the GA) for the contest we must organize.
These art submissions will be shown during the week of the Workshop in Copenhague (April-May 2025, pending final dates) and decide three winners among all.
*"**Outreach Day 2 (OD2)**, Science art contest. With the help of local Outreach Officers at each partner, in the second year of study, DCs will give a public talk (e.g. in secondary schools in and around their city of residence), and encourage participants to take part in a science art contest organized by QSI. Participants should submit, possibly in digital format, any art form (e.g., poetry, music, design, painting, sculpture, and video) on a related scientific subject. All submissions will be shown throughout the week that QSIW holds, and based on the votes from the members of the public, the best three contributions will be awarded. This art competition will engage the public with the frontiers of science in an exciting and engaging way."*
This means that your public lecture must be held in a High School by the beginning of March 2025 at the latest (but the sooner the better). Please keep this in mind to start organizing it as soon as possible.
In your public lecture you must tell the attendees about the contest that we are organizing and so they will have time to prepare their works and present them to be evaluated later in the Workshop in Denmark.
We will prepare a "pop up" to put on the QSI website, and this will help you to explain to your audience how to participate in this contest that we have to organize. The details of the deadline will be indicated there.
Also, we accept ideas for the prizes we can offer them. A Diploma will be also given to the three winners.
If you have any question, please let me know.
Have a nice week! 😊
With best regards,
Lorena G. Curra
