Dear all,

We have recently been contacted by the EU Project Officer (PO), who **has offered us the option of extending the Quantum-Safe Internet project** by up to seven months (until April 2027).

This extension would give us more time to spend any remaining funds. This money could be used for:

- **DCs who started later:** the extension would allow DCs who joined the project later than initially planned to reach (or come closer to) the full 36 months of employment within the project, where applicable.

- **DCs who started earlier:** the money could be used to extend the contracts of DCs beyond the 36-month limit. During the extension, however, the DCs would not be considered MSCA fellows. This means that it is not mandatory to maintain the same contractual conditions as when they were MSCA fellows, although the PO recommends doing so.

- **Attending conferences and dissemination activities related to the project results.**

- **Secondments:** It would provide additional time for DCs to carry out secondments that may not have been possible within the original project timeline.

The drawback is that the final payment for the project would be delayed until the end of the extension period. You should therefore discuss this with your administrative colleagues.

We have agreed to send our reply to the PO by the end of this week. Please reply to this **email by Friday, 11 September**, stating whether you are in favour of the extension or not.

With best wishes,

Lorena G. Curra
